Global MMOG/LE V3 now available

— filed under:

The purpose of the MMOG/LE is to provide a single assessment tool that enables a comprehensive evaluation of MP&L performance and capability. The tool can be used by both supplier and customer throughout the entire product life cycle, including the early product development and pre-production phases, and the post-production aftermarket/service phases. MMOG/LE can be used by every partner in the supply chain for self-assessment, or can be used between business partners as an audit tool for supplier selection and evaluation. This guideline can be used internally as a continuous improvement tool, or externally as your customers require. This Excel file automatically calculates your Global MMOG/LE score and features a gap analysis tool.

Version 3 of the MMOG/LE is now available in English. Further language versions are coming soon.

Version 3 incorporates more explanation, new features and improved functionality. Key changes include:

  • Introduction and Instructions. Updates were made to address questions submitted and introduce the new features. Some of the concerns addressed include MMOG/LE's compatibility with ISO/TS 16949 and lean, and an explanation of how to use the MMOG/LE as a “light” version for Tier 2-N suppliers.

  • Assessment. Reviewed and updated for clarity to accommodate global usage and interpretation. Each “Why?” statement was strengthened by providing further explanation on benefits (e.g., cost and waste reduction) to the organization when compliant with the criteria. A comment section was also added for each criterion.

  • Gap Analysis. Enhanced to better support the development and management of action plans. Several user-friendly functions were added, including filtering options, data validation and color coding to highlight areas that require attention. The corresponding comments from the assessment are displayed on the Gap Analysis for each criterion. Organizations will now have the ability to run a Progression Chart upon completion of the Gap Analysis.

  • Radar Charts. A new addition that displays the overall scores attained for each chapter along with the total score and resulting classification.

  • Progression Chart. A new addition that provides a graphical representation of the scoring progress for attaining level “A” classification based on the action plan target dates entered in the Gap Analysis.

  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). A new addition to assist organizations seeking further clarification on a particular topic or criteria. The section provides instructions on how to submit questions to MMOG/LE subject matter experts. FAQs and their corresponding responses can be accessed on AIAG’s Web site.

  • Further Information. An new addition that provides information on how organizations can obtain training and translated versions of MMOG/LE. This section also includes information on associated publications and Web sites.

  • Technical Enhancements. Additional enhancements were made to the document to be more user-friendly and support easier navigation such as hyperlinks, toggle keys and filtering options.
